JP to Me... is a themed group exhibition inspired by the rich and diverse place taht surrounds us. The show will be exhibited at Eliot Hall, located in the Footlight Club. Ten JPOS artists will examine what Jamaica Plain means to them through thier art. As the group exhibit organizer, I am very excited and honered to be associtaed with such great talent. check out my work at the 15th annual JP open studios consponsered by jamaica plain arts council. jamaica plain is a funky little neighborhood located in boston ma. the open studios takes place in artist's homes and studios's as well as group sites and businesses throughout the jamaica plain community. it's a great event that takes place the weekend of september 27 & 28.

"SMALL WORKS" show and sale will be held tuesday, may 20, 2008 at the Milky Way Lounge in jamaica plain from 6 - 9 pm. the event will include raffle baskets and music for a suggested donation of $10 at the door. all works will be sold for the uniform price of $50 and all proceeds support Open Studios. participating artists receive complimentary admission.

for the past 15 years, the business community has provided half of the funding for Open Studios. for the second year, we are asking artists' to help support an event which is important to sustaining and promoting the cultural community.

SoWa art walk, 460 harrison avenue

the SoWa Art Walk is held every spring in the SoWa (South of Washington Street) neighborhood in boston’s south end. a former mill building district where pianos, canned goods, shoes and other merchandise were made in the 19th century, the district has been home to artists’ studios carved out of the old factories for the last fifty years. today, the artists have been joined by art galleries, creative businesses, cutting edge restaurants and the recent boom in residential loft buildings.

the SoWa Art Walk takes place in late may each year and is a weekend-long standing invitation to visit the artists in their studios. this year, the SoWa Art Walk will occur on saturday and sunday may 17-18, 2008 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. creative stores, cafes, boutiques and some of the city’s finest restaurants take part in the SoWa Art Walk by opening their doors all weekend, hosting artists who display on their walls and offering special event discounts. the SoWa open market, an open-air venue for artists, craftsmen, collectioners, farmstands and other vendors makes its seasonal debut each year in tandem with the SoWa Art Walk. www.southendopenmarket.com

each First Thursday of the month businesses along centre and south streets are transformed into galleries featuring works from local artists. open receptions, at each location, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, offer a chance to meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and experience JP's fabulous businesses in an entirely new light. artworks usually remain on display for the remainder of the month.

boston- IIDA NE is pleased to present Art Uncorked 2007, a charity event showcasing the talents of the local design community and great wine and food, all while supporting a worthy case.

the aim of Art Uncorked 2007 is to rally our community behind one common cause: supporting vital community groups and organizations in massachusetts. in years past, the IIDA NE’s art auction has been extremely successful in raising funds for local charities, and it is in this vein that Art Uncorked continues. this year’s beneficiary even hits close to home: The massachusetts interior design coalition (MIDC).

patrons of Art Uncorked 2007 will have the opportunity to taste and learn about a variety of wines and complementary foods, all of which will be matched with artwork and crafts donated to the IIDA NE by the design community. In the spirit of the IIDA NE art auction, all artwork—paintings, stained glass, jewelry, photography, etc—will be auctioned off to benefit the MIDC. Art Uncorked 2007 will take place on september 27 from 6-9pm at the new boston art showroom on the picturesque waterfront at 23 drydock avenue.

alchemist lounge art gallery and sale
